Words don’t do this cottage justice, but the photos speak for themselves – it is very picturesque and has an incredible outlook to the islands of Eigg, Rum and Skye. This was originally the farmhouse for Achateny farm, with a tiny one-room bothy on the end where the shepherd lived.
Now the cottage has one double room, one twin and one room with bunk-beds, two bathrooms, and the kitchen has cooker, microwave, fridge with freezing compartment and washing machine and dishwasher.
In the evening watch the sun set from the sun porch and deer make their way to the coast to graze – you will find their hoofprints on the beach in the morning, alongside the tracks of otters and the prints of seasbirds. The white sand beach is only a short walk away, and is one of the most beautiful on the peninsula.
